The Javelin is a nice form factor and it's a very similar design to the Bold. I find my Bold quite bulky, espcially when I have to carry my personal mobile as well. Don't get me wrong I prefer the Bold to my Curve and the Javelin will be a nice upgrade from the Curve.
If you catch my drift.

Other than 3G but I didn't particularly find the Curve to be a slow device whilst browsing!
You're joking right? the BB OS' browsers are the slowest in rendering html sites in the industry. That said improvements in the Bold's browser will come in the Javelin.
btw, the Magnum is the Javelin with 3G. My preference is the Javelin which a clearer picture was posted on T-Mobile Germany just last month with a sale price accidentally. Also that black pearl is wicked looking.
3G will allow voice & data simultaneously so don't forget that. Its so useful that we always forget. Crackaddicts hate waiting for that email when a call is ongoing and you just cannot get off - especially conference calls.

No I'm not joking, I am speaking from my personal experience not the industry, I was happy with the browser on the Curve and even more so with that of the Bold.

Reg did point out that the Magnum is the Javelin in his post, Clearer picture??? care to share?

Hi all,
Just a quick report to say I'm now running .190 thanks to a kind someone who keeps sending me the links and so far it's running very well. Browser is faster and thumbnails refresh really fast each new firmware keeps on improving the Bold it's really quite amazing and no 2-4 month wait for a new one either.

Hi!
I got my Storm yesterday and it looks good !!!
I am having some issues though. Better start reading through the manual.
1. I want to download Japanese language to the phone but can't figure that out.
2. want to synch with Outlook contacts and appointments
3. and setup my university exchange server but can't figure that out too. Do I have to wait for an i.d. or something frm BlackBerry?
and finally
4. put some music on the card. The Storm says there is a card error but it is freshly formatted using the PC.
Yes, total beginner with BlackBerry but am happy to learn !
any advice appreciated !

You may need to download the firmware for the Storm from the RIM site which will contain the language packs and then you will be able to load them onto the phone! I will look into this for you!
2. want to synch with Outlook contacts and appointments
First you need to install desktop manager, and then attach the device to your computer set up sync and then sync, let me know where you are getting stuck

For the exchange server you may need to set up BES express which Dicky informs me is free for one license, again I'm not sure about this but will look into it for you!

Format the card using your BlackBerry, this may be where the problem lies to do so, go to options>media card>BlackBerry key> format card
to load music and videos you have Roxio media manager or media sync, but to be honest it is far easier to drag and drop music into the BlackBerry>Music folder on the card, and just use Media manager for converting videos.
AFAIK if you don't put your music in the BlackBerry>Music folder the BlackBerry will not recognise it! Formatting the card using the Storm should set all of the folders up for you!
Yes, total beginner with BlackBerry but am happy to learn !
any advice appreciated !
