z5p successor is exactly what i want! ... but do i wait for what may or may not come? my z1 is working well after a fresh re-install.. but it's still slow in some areas.

2. Software stabilization doesn;t work while taking pictures. And it shows especially in low light scenarios.

From what I can gather the camera uses the phones gyroscope and possibly other sensors to stabilize the image. That is how it can be used on both the front and rear cameras. Plus I have seen it stated more than once that this helps with photos and videos. So it technically is hardware stabilization, but just a smart implementation using the phones existing tech.

But not fore pictures. There's no room for adjustments. Steady Shot in Z5 is using many sensors as well.

I think instead of paying the marketing guy who came up with that plan, they should spend money on marketing the assets of the devices.

USP was technically a rumour. have we see Sony claiming something to be USP in marketing or ads anywhere?

True. it appears on closer inspection that they are actually pushing a triple sensor camera experience. One being the actual camera, second is the laser AF, third is a new RGBC-IR sensor for colour range detection for white balance purposes.
Interestingly, from the Sony Press release:
5-axis stabilization is activated only when the camera recognizes macro video. Other situations will be recorded as 3-axis(pitch/yaw/roll) only
A couple of reviews backed this up mentioning that the 5-axis stabilisation is for videos only, other reviews haven't said. I get the sense that this small print is going to be confusing as people will expect image stabilisation is universal and, therefore, when their photos are still blurry, it'll be passed off as a gimmick that doesn't work.
