I think we will hear from Aurelius at some point.
Would be a shame docomo delays this and would put it closer to the 2014 H1 release. Can my iphone survive by then is my other question, 3G starts to feel slow)

yeah, you have a valid point. Docomo (or any carrier for that matter) aren't speedy when it comes to pumping out updates, are they?
They will delay the availability in Japan just so that they can stuff it with bloat, and updates will be delayed too.
If I can, I would prefer to buy it unbranded. If the deals offered here in Asia are as cool as those in Europe(free QX10? OMG), I might bust my wallet and go for it soon after release.
If not, I will go the opposite route, wait till december or so when prices would have dropped to about ￥50,000 and buy 白ロムand flash international FW on it.
