True. it appears on closer inspection that they are actually pushing a triple sensor camera experience. One being the actual camera, second is the laser AF, third is a new RGBC-IR sensor for colour range detection for white balance purposes.

Interestingly, from the Sony Press release:
5-axis stabilization is activated only when the camera recognizes macro video. Other situations will be recorded as 3-axis(pitch/yaw/roll) only

A couple of reviews backed this up mentioning that the 5-axis stabilisation is for videos only, other reviews haven't said. I get the sense that this small print is going to be confusing as people will expect image stabilisation is universal and, therefore, when their photos are still blurry, it'll be passed off as a gimmick that doesn't work.

Read this explained from techradar.

@hello1000 Not sure the tech is implemented in the same way in smartphones as it is for DSLRs. In DSLRs it can stabilise photos but the press releases for the recent announcement all clearly state (in footnotes) that the 5-axis stabilisation is only for video.

The 5-axis-stabilisation have the same the way how it works, only on mobile its limit to macro full HD video recording.

the FES watch isn't a "smartwatch".. more of a fashion accessory with e-ink feature. it doesn't have all the built in smartwatch features you would expect (as far as i know).

The Band concept is awesome, I hope Sony bring this idea to a new Round Smartwatch of their own...

The FES Watch U is just a watch. Not a smart watch. It only tells the time and looks sexy and has a 2 year battery life (at least the first one did anyway). In my opinion that's smarter than a watch that tries (in vain) to do everything that the device 3 inches further down your also does.

this is the exact reason I'm not even interested at smart watch. I don't like the fact that phones only last 1 day or less on a full charge. a smart watch is not any better while offering nothing essential

I disagree. A smartwatch saves you from having to repeatedly take your phone out so for me at least, I see a massive improvement in my phone battery life.
