Here's the best route to getting Sony Ericsson settings -
1. on a Sony Ericsson cellphone (K700i and on) go to Internet Services
2. Click and scroll to Settings
3. Click and follow the simple procedure to establish the settings that you need
- this services covers all GRPS, CSD and MMS settings for all networks and SPs. You can set up any phone irrespective of the network you're on and sending to. Sony Ericsson will dispatch the settings to your cellphone in seconds - faster and more reliable than the networks deliver. 99% of the time it worked for me.
If you need the settings, just ask a buddy on a Sony Ericsson to send it - off WAP of the internet, or get hold of me and I'll send it to you. (Internet service does not work on Apple Safari).

Inspired by the Monkey Man(and by jealousy of his brilliant new toys) I thought I'd post some of my favourite pictures from my now dated but still reliable precious aka K700i...the one was taken this afternoon on my way into work when I was caught by a freak rain storm.
This picture of a child and his father was taken outside the Beaufort West Magistrate's Court while I was on assignment in the town following disgraced ANC politician Truman Prince.
And this pic was taken just a couple of days later while in Porterville on a road trip with a couple of friends through the countryside.

I am aware that you can get MMS GPRS settings from manufactures and via *111# for Vodacom. But its frustrating at times when the store is busy and a customer ask us to do it for them.

Cell C will be lauching 3G this year. The best thing is they will be using Vodacom 3G network for coverage. It will give them the upper hand against MTN because Vodacom has better 3G coverage than MTN..........On its way in SOON.......Vodacom will be giving away desktops/laptops on 3G contracts

Dear dear dear... supporters of Vodacom... "Vodacom has better 3G coverage than MTN" - please be extremely careful about making such clearly unfounded and unsubstantiated remarks. There is no proof yet as to who is better. While I've been experiencing some problems with respect to both, at various locations either could be better, or non-existent. Yes, Vodacom have had their 3G commercially available for a longer period than MTN, but MTN have been testing their network for a longer period than Vodacom, and they've deployed EDGE which gives users a much faster fallback when there is no 3G coverage. EDGE already covers all major centers. MTN's data has historically been better largely because of Vodacom's multi-vendor network. Vodacom failed to even perform soft GPRS hand-overs, and hence why they've rushed their 3G rollout. It replaces a platform that never worked - PERIOD! NOw they want to deliver HSPDA... when? Before the end of the year? Well earlier I recall April 2005 as the date, which has passed, and now they plan to launch it before EU and Japan... hmmm me finds this very difficult to comprehend. And guys... before you get too excited about 2-14.4meganits/sec on Vodacom.... there are still now devices available that support these speeds and there won't be until early 2006. So, coming back to me earlier statement... On data I always back MTN. Those techs usually know what's happening, while Vodacom does deliver much much better customer service.

What do you guys think of the 7 new Nokias? Some interesting looking sliders, but with a strong pseudo-SE flavour re the one side looking very much like a digital camera, on some of them.
Imitation is indeed the sincerest form of flattery, Nokia...
