Is this phone EVER going to come out on Orange UK
Seemingly never
I spoke to an Orange rep on wednesday and he states that the phone wasn't on their coming soon list and if it isn't now it's unlikely to come to Orange at all

I wouldn't take his word as gospel tho. Ive also seen a lot of fake articles on the net saying it's been released on Orange UK which is annoying.
Shame considering Ive been waiting 2.5 years for a decent upgrade!! Orange don't even have the N95 8GB edition as an alternative.
May be time to switch operators?

How easy is it to navigate through media? Is it speedy or laggy?
Im thinking of getting either this or the W890 to tide me over till BeiBei/P5 is out.

I made a backup of the phone and reinstalled the FW. That deleted the phone memory, but not the "8 GB memory" with music. Just as planed... but the grading and mood settings disappeared from the music.
Does anyone know how to backup the mood and grading of the music made in the Walkmanplayer?

I spent about half an hour on the phone with Orange Retentions and they said the same thing about the W960. They had no clue when the N95 8GB was coming out either, and even said that the vast majority of Nokias keep crashing!
I went through all the high-end phones with them and none of them took my fancy despite them saying I could have any phone for free
It's a shame as I'm on their Premier programme and the customer service has improved immensely.

Have a look at these YouTube videos for a preview of the Walkman player:

as far as i know, it's possible to switch tracks by long-pressing the volume keys.... that would be one less issue.

I switch tracks with the volume keys and you can also switch tracks with the touchscreen. I switch tracks with my fingers on the touchscreen. With the jogdial is also possible.

In my opinion, the w960 looks very pretty but it is very laggy with the current software rev. Think laggy like the old t610. Screen updates are slow, but it appears they are very slow because the update task is at a low priority in the phone OS. The advanced backdrop graphics is smooth, so the graphics speed of the phone appears to be very high. Updating the OS' touch screen buttons seems to take longer.
Changing between tracks is OK, but it is not seamless. There is always a 0.5 second pause between tracks, and this is annoying for live albums as the crowd cheering is broken up by silence. Changing albums is done by selecting a tiny button "Music" on the touch screen, then scrolling through the list of albums with the selector wheel.
