I wonder how big a camera sensor they'll try to stuff into the 2014 flagship. I suppose it's almost a certainty that it'll have a xenon flash considering the recent advancements in super slim xenon flashes. I do hope they go for a pop-up flash as it'll make the overall look of the phone still look nice and clean, and it'll give you the option of a bounce flash which can really imorove a picture over a standard straight on xenon flash.
Am a bit disappointed no IR blaster in Z1, so hope that makes its way back into the new flagship. I wonder why they've been omitting that from recent phones yet they're still putting it in tablets both Android and Windows. I know they intend tablets to be more of a livingroom experience, but if most of your major competition are putting them on their phones then why not put it in yours?
Also going to be interesting to see how they expand the line of lens cameras. I can imagine we'll hear rumblings of versions with APSC sized sensors before long. I'll skip the existing 2 lenses simply because I already have my RX100 to handle my photos
Wonder if Sony will continue the omni-balance design or go with a new design form like they have as in past years. Could we see a return to full metal phones from Sony?
I've been following this scene for about 2 years now, and look forward to finally owning a modern handset in Z1. Can't wait to see what Sony has in store for us in 2014!

If Honami mini is going to be released before holidays with these specs I think it will be huge success for Sony.
I consider chage it to smaller screen from my 5" XZ also and if 4.3" screen and S800 is true than I`m sold 'cause I just can`t operate one handed with 5" screen, and I need that comfort often.

I'd say you all should keep your hopes low for the Z1 mini. Not in terms of specs but overall package may not be anywhere near as tempting as Z1. But then it's a personal taste so I don't know.

are you implying that Z1 mini version is 5C competitor not 5S?
When 5C (you can expect iPhone 5's muscle in plastic body) arrive to market later this year, Android mid-range will face extremely tough challenge. I hope Sony can manage timeframe of availability of Z1 mini in time as it competitor arrive.

to be fair, you can't compare 32nm HKMG Apple A7 customize chip (engineered by Apple themselves) with 45nm Cortex-A9 low-power ST-E U8500.
Even worse, yesterday I saw report that NTT Docomo would be interest to carry iPhone this year.
