@Peanut.. No joy here - I have tried O2 and Orange SIMS in the K800 - can receive but cannot send email from any accounts - One question - My K800i is unlocked from O2 but I am using my old O2 SIM (I haven't called up to activate the 3G SIM O2 supplied) - What network is your phone on and if O2 - did you activate the new SIM? cheers

Hello mates,

I want few clarifications regarding some differences between k750i and k800i:

1. Do k800 require any USB driver to recognise the phone attached to the PC as is a must for k750?

2. When using the official Opera Mini, the GPRS connection keeps on disconnecting in k800i, whenever the "back" or "menu" keys are pressed or the web page is left idle for sometime? It keeps on disconnecting in my K750i.

3. When i use the russian hacked verison of Opera Mini, the screen looks very cramped and results invariably in eye strain/ headache, if i use it for extended time. Is same the case with K800i screen? The reason i dont use the official opera mini with large font is that i keeps on disconnecting and reults in charging of more GPRS sessions!

4. In the calender of k800i, is there any change from K750i, like, any provision for recurrent events. e.g Siemens offers lots of recurrent choices like daily, weekly, monthly, yearly etc.

5. The last, which one feature you guys think gives a huge edge over k750i (Other than camera), due to which one should up-grade to K800i.

thanks in anticipation.

cheers,

the k800 doesnt have a night mode option in camera mode, only in video mode

Well that totally SUCKS IMO! The night mode was a very usefull feature considering it allowed for extended exposure instead of cranked up ISO. I've used it quite a bit on my K750, and of course it is best used by leaving the phone on a table or something ot eliminate hand-shake. Now that they have image stabilization, the should have Definetly left the Night mode on! Oh well... I always wanted more control over the camera and was hoping to get it with a CyberShot branded phone...

BTW regarding the K800 flash vs the MXE-60 add-on: the K800 takes flash photos at 1/20th vs 1/15 on the MXE60 add on. I highly doubt that you'll be able to use the add-on on a K800 and probably won't do you any good because the flash sync on the phone is limited to 1/20.

The only issue I've had with the phone so far (5 days) is that for one of the Tasks I put in, the alarm didn't go off. After a restart, it worked fine.

Sorry if this was asked before... how does the internal flash in K800 compare with the add-on flash for K750? The one in the K800 looks smaller, i was wondering if it can light the same surface.
BTW, could you use the MXE-60 flash in the K800, alongside the internal one?

And another one: do the landscape pictures taken at evening/night (not using the flash, of course) still have all that blue noise, like in K750? Is the night mode improved?

Thanks!

So? Did anyone compare the MXE-60 with the K800 in-built flash?
Does the annoying blue noise appear in the evening/night shots of a landscape (not short distance with flash)?

And another good one: If I have a Java program which wants to access the file system... does the phone ask a million times if to read/write (like K750), or does it have the option to "ask once"?
