4GB RAM is not competitive for '17 flagships.
Wait, so what IS competitive? 6GB RAM? 8GB RAM?
How much multitasking do you guys do?

^ You should not care about it, you go the route that competition goes, and you try to be even better. So 4GB will be bad from marketing prospective. We all know that iPhone 6 with 1 GB of ram works better then 95% Android phones (Sony does the same though, with it's 3 GB), but iPhone has no competition in iOS world.

In addition to Nikola's argument I would add that you cannot ask for flagship price while not providing the amount of RAM that the Chinese offer for half the price. You should at least make it on par. 6GB RAM will be standard for '17 flagships and Sony should not ignore that. Props for including DDRX RAM though!
Also, really hope XZ2 has 4K screen.

Son of a ##### Sony release a waterproof X Compact in Japan, the one thing that I really wanted from a Compact as the internals are pretty good plus the price is great. Thanks Sony.

Thanks but I've invested in a cheap but new Z5, the photos taken in the XZ thread do not show a huge upgrade in quality although a step in the right direction. What it does show is that the software for the camera is still lacking so I will wait since the Z5 will be supported for a while. If the X Compact was waterproof in this market, it definitely would have a massive appeal and if it had the same metal casing it would arguably look nicer than the XZ because of the size. It sucks that they could have done it but didn't.

That is AWESOME!
Keep it premium in all aspects and that's my next phone guys! This very well may be the best phone of '17 since it is in perfect place to technologically surpass S8 due to its autumn release. Just don't go below S8 standards in terms of 4K screen, 6 GB RAM and S830 (or better) Soc.
Thanks ADIDA!

Well I'm hopeful...
Besides, those are the only rumors we currently have.
