Features of One Sony strategy are well put in place and finally start to make sense.
Playstation: Learnt hard lessons from Ps3 and Ps4 will bé a success cause not at loss.Vita Tv great movement to the future
Bravia: 3d was a Huge mistake and with 4k they are right focused...
Mobile: Say what YOU want but this part of the company is gonna Drive the recovery. All mistakes are being adressed:Faster software updates;better build, better overall devices;tech from the present; focus on margin and not in sales wich is increasing sales!!!
Cameras:There isn't outthere better lineup than Sony's
Medical:After acquiring Olympus and other assets they are very well positioned in the sector
Music:Good as usual and Apple's licensing is good move
Movies:Good as usual but must improve in animation and big budget films
Software:The 2013 implementation is well focused but it has to copy Apple's iTunes model...

Or building tanks, like Samsung?
I'm joking, I know you weren't trolling, so was just joking.
It seems Sony really is fixed on its 3 core businesses. There's enough potential here for them to excel and prosper - medical and mobile sound exciting, cameras are doing well and are about to get better thanks to the new lenses, and the ps4 doesn't seem to have competition... TVs are not going to be making losses much longer... They're at the forefront of 4k - TVs, cameras, projectors - everything.
More an entertainment company than education. But that large tablet with the long battery life - it's name escapes me - seemed interesting enough.
Samsung seem to have realised Android won't be enough on its own within the next few years - I hope Sony release a new OS in 2014.

Vaio Duo 13 with 11 hours battery life ? I was hoping that the new Vaio tap 11 to have long battery life close to Vaio Duo 13, unfortunately not. The battery life is around 5 hrs. Why can't it go more than that with Haswell processor ?

Hi, not sure if its been asked already but is there a Sony Tablet Z replacement on its way out ? if so is there any info on release date ? specs, price etc ?
Reason I'm asking is I'm thinking of buying the Tablet Z, I don't want to buy it then find a new one is coming out soon.
Cheers.

@MyP910
There's that, which is very nice (I want one, lol), but a bit expensive for the average student.
I was referring to this:
http://www.engadget.com/2013/[....]inch-prototype-e-paper-tablet/
It has at least some potential I suppose - the input, display and battery life are fit for purpose.

I don't understand this "dream" of another OS, like Vita. What will it get Sony except independance? Do you think Sony will be more successful than Microsoft to build another smartphone ecosystem? I think that race is over. When the market shift to wearables and new form factors, then perhaps some more lightweight OS may evolve with an associated eco system.

Thought I'd post this slightly OT post. I have no speakers on my work PC. Anything interesting?
