Ahhh right!
It's a no-go then

PC 133 is of the SDRAM type and PC2700 is DDR. Your PC2700 won't even fit in the slot, never mind work I'm afraid!

@bluequill
Try these fixes:
IE Fix:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm
followed by
Winsock Fix:
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html
For IE Fix, please read the web page that I've linked to carefully as it contains important instructions on how to use it. It's not long-winded or difficult, but you do need to read them.
If those two fail, I'm afraid you may be looking at reinstalling windows
@Brownlad007
Could you make a note of a few (say four or five) of those BSOD error numbers for me? I couldn't possibly guess what's causing it without those. It could be hardware or software, I really need to see the error codes

Hi @Cyco,
In the bottom left hand corner of my screen, text displays info that says:
'Windows XP Professional
Build...........................bla bla bla'
Is there any way that I can get rid of that?
Thanks very much in advance for your reply!

Are you using a 'legit' version of windows? Thing is, Microsoft usually put the build number on their beta versions of new operating systems!
Other than that, and I appologise if this sounds really obvious, does the message appear regardless of what desktop wallpaper you use?
Any chance you can post a screenshot?
