the headset SQ IS very close to the iPod from Apple

is it due to the internal chip sound or the HPM-77?

It's the phone, don't worry.

Features nice on this phone but i hate the design. Not really into clamshells and SonyEricsson has never really ever got it spot on with clamshells in my opinion. It looks nice when closed but nasty when open and whats with the camera position.

I wasn't really a fan of clamshells either, until I went to purchase a W800 and found there were none available so I got a V800 instead, which I came to like alot. All the other SE clams have been a bit girly looking for me.

I like the interior styling of the phone especially those buttons and I disagree with the comments in the review that because the buttons are similar to those on a lower mid-range R series phone that it reflects badly on the W980. I feel that the R306 is actually a high-end radio considering how cheap a stand alone radio and headphones can be bought these days and so sharing the buttons makes sense, to me anyway.

As for the position of the camera, check out these past photos from my V800. I'm sure I'll get used to the position of the W980 lens too.

I think I've made my choice and have gone for the C902 instead of the W980. After reading GSM arena's review and looking at other things I dont think the W980 is the right choice for me.

Z500 & Z520 & Z600 where ALL incredible flip phones. z500 was 's first EDGE phone EVER! V/Z800 wasn't too impressive for us in North America because it was MAD thick and 3G was useless to us. Its specs where amazing, but something the Z780 easily beats it on EVERY front save for the lack of LED.

This is by far the BEST flip phone that SE has EVER done! EVER! whomever was on the team that designed this ... DESERVES a FAT Bonus and a raise and to also be on the next flipphone design.

No FM Transmitter SUCKS! However, I think it'll serve a better purpose on a candybar phone.

Of course the Z780 beats the V800 in specs, and it better too, since the V800 came out years ago. The only real gripe i have on the W980 is how the clamshell is shaped. i just don't like how it looks when opened. I like clamshells that are shaped like a normal wide V like the V800 and Z770/Z780 instead of the crooked almost flat V. And also the screen seems kind of small, there was a lot of unused space that could've been put to better use.
