that's the proof, the cam with which the photos were taken is not very good - look how red the icon for cardiometre is... the colors the cam is taken are not real. it depends on which light was there and the direction of the lights in the room, so wait for other pictures....
and the steps of the blue color show that there are definitely more the 16k colors

@boiing- Pretty easy to say for an apple fanboy which delivers one phone a year and has a cartload of people working thir ass off on a single phone throughout the year.SE has their Android, Symbian and A*** teams to look after. A 2-3 month announcement-release break isnt bad at all.
What about Nokia? Why doesnt anyone bash them?I dont think even HTC releases their phones as quick.
Yeah, whatever. It is easy for me to say, and that's because it's true, no matter how unfair it seems. The comparison you make may contain enough excuses for you to exonerate SE, but the market isn't interested in excuses - it's interested in what the best new phone is - and in six months time that won't be Rachel. The delay causing that may well be because SE have overstretched themselves by trying to keep three different platforms in development (Symbian, Android, and Winmo) but whose choice was that? Ironically, it's only hard for you to accept this because you, "se_dude", are a fanboy yourself - and on the wrong side of the argument.
As it happens I was faithful to E/SE myself for about seven years, and six phones, including three of their touchscreen smartphones. I didn't even leave them for an Apple, but an HTC. But nevermind, I have an iPhone now, and tend to say nice things about it, so that makes me a fanboy..

I would just ignore Sealover. This the W995 hate all over again. I think. I mean he did hate on another phone and I think it was the W995 as it was flagship of 09.

Thanks for posting. All there seems to have been in this thread up to now is further speculation over the screen, video calling, the CPU etc. I thought once the rumour thread closed that all that would end.
It needed to be said mate.
Looks like it was to no use though...
Synn, i could use that beer right now, thank you.

no it was p990 as a matter of fact and xperia x1 ... Both made such a success
i owned a w995 cause i think it's the best mobile ever made by SE.
In order to understand the colors look at the icons.. the seem like a draw.. no glass rflection or realism on them because of low number of colors...
@angelo this is definetly NOT the best screen ever made..
STILL NO NEWS FOR THE OFFICIAL 16000 COLORS and no correction !!
But anyway... we must have ALL HERE the same opinion as you guys?
I like SE since 1999 (ericsson before) but when i see sth wrong i am saying it !
CPU is the best for me but wait to see the final software..

Maybe not ignore him, yet for others to not pay no mind to his issues with the colors. However I still say he has a valid point. I'm unsure if its just the gamut of colors chosen by
on the shots, or, if its the actual lack of colors on such a high resolution & large screen. Lastly it could just be that
does NOT want the colors to "pop" out at the user so as not to overwhelm them.
1 thing to keep in mind before arguing against SeaLover, or ignoring him - and he'll have to help on this.
What kind of LCD is everyone seeing the sites/pictures of the Xperia X10 on anyway? How much contrast (ratio), color gamut (reproduced), etc is your LCD? I'm having a guess that we're all just using standard laptop lcd's, and dell desktop lcd's and by chance SeaLover is using some high end business which is why he's maintaining his arguement/quibble. Yeah I know I'll get a few people stating I'm "reaching" on this ... but I personally am out on this one here so I'd like to see something, a better theme used so we know for certain.
right about now, the iPhone 3GS still holds its own against X10 for now - it DOES lack in the aggregation of contacts, and melding of data; search seems to be about the same.

It's ok to have an opinion, but you don't need to express the same thing over and over and over again, it's getting boring, and rather pathetic imo.
Chill out and let's see how it is.
You cannot judge a LCD on it's colour because some few pictures.
Give us a break, please, we've got your message a zillion times allready.

Apart from the obvious plus points such as the looks, the screen (regardless of the apparently hot issue of colour count) and the 1 gb of RAM, the actual deal breaker for anyone considering migrating from
feature phones to its version of Android is likely to be Java implementation, an issue that
should attend to for obvious reasons.
Secondly, the big question of Android apps, their availability and pricing, a perfect opportunity to avoid the S60 story (as evidenced by the Satio) with few seriously overpriced items. An open source platform provides a huge opportunity to do just the opposite and then and only then can
or any other phone manufacturer for that matter hope of taking on the Iphone (as much as I personally am not a fan of it).
Hopefully Rachel will be the first in a row of Android devices, a way of testing the waters and so let's keep our fingers crossed that it turns out to be swim rather than sink for
, in the long run, that is given their history of launch delays.
Cheers!

I want to say one last thing about the washed out - blueish "man on the photo" posted by sealover. Haven't you noticed that these blocks (with photos from timescape) are partly transparent? Maybe this is the reason why they are blueish like you say - just like the background. And can we speak here about something different than colours please?
