Pictures used for caller ID and/or wallpaper will be cropped such that there's a "letterbox" view. I.e. there's a bar at the top and bottom of the picture which is reserved for the icons. The colour remains that of the background of the currently enable theme.

I hope that makes sense! If there's a way top stretch the wallpaper ala windows style, hopefully someone'll post it...

OK, I've done a quick test on my theory of why numbers disappear.
I added a new contact and put in a dummy number, then I created a second contact and added a number by looking it up from the first, then I deleted the first one.
The result was that the number was still present on the second contact making my theory a load of rubbish. Apologies.

Ok... So how do we update the firmware? It was simple enough on my P900 using the cradle that came with the phone, but i cant get any sort of connection to my k700 using the same cradle or with my bluetooth(pc to phone) with the SE software? Although i can transfer files just fine using the software that came with my dongle?

you dont update firmware yourself - this is done in a S//E servicecenter.

If you cannot get connection to your phone using bluetooth and the S//E software that came with the phone - you did not set up the software correct. You need to first make a bluetooth serial port - then make note of which com port number is assigned to that bluetooth serial port - then enable monitoring of that com port in the S//E connection manager. If this is not done correctly the S//E software is not able to detect the phone. When this is done correctly you will be able to browse the content of the phone using the S//E "MyPhones" and you will be able to synchronize using S//E synchstation.

You should also be able to use the deskstand for the P900 and its cableconnection if you have installed the phonemonitor for the K700 and configured the phonemonitor to monitor the emulated com port of the cableconnection - again you need to make a note of which comport the cableconnection is on and enable monitoring of that comport in the phonemonitor.

The bluetooth software itself does not need this serial connection in order to connect to the phone - it uses OBEX instead which is why you are able to send files this way.
