BTW There is a distinction between Sony and here in NZ I know for a fact you won't find a single nokia carkit in any nz staff member car.

I have a mate that works at Vodafone and their whole strategy seems wierd lately, I would say they're only going to concentrate on 3g phones from now on. Who knows what their issue with the W900 was though (you'd think they'd want something like that to put against telecoms 1g "music" phone)

shake up @ SENZ there has been a restructure resulting in a reshuffle and some positions being discontinued.
Aus/NZ will operate as one reporting to the Oceania Regional Head. NZ positions are moving into NZ. You can find more info in today's Telecommunications Review

@samule

Very interesting, must get me a copy of that.
Certainly explains the slow disappearance of SE phones from NZ stores.

Found some sharp pricing on DSE's website. HCB-300 selling for $98.00
Listed as an earpiece - Hahaha!

se still exists and is still operating in nz

w800 is being replaced by w810
k800 is replacing k750
v800 is being phased out

so some handsets are getting the chop.
but more are coming

So are nz going to release phones with MSPD alongside phones with Memory Stick Micro (M2) and require stores to stock both types of media? I very much doubt it.

I see W900i has disappeared from NZ website. No W810i yet - would NZ customers recognise the difference between it and the K610i? K610i has MP3, M2 plus the all important (to Vodafone) 3G features. Perhaps it would be a better choice for our tiny market.

Will SonyNZ or NZ release the 4GB and 8GB MSPD cards? I hope so. It's hard to find even the 1 or 2Gig cards at the moment.

Sorry if I sound overly cynical, but it frustrates me immensly how little choice we get here in NZ.

And yet SENZ website has removed the words Currently Unavailable from 3 of the Walkman phones featured - see here.

I know W800 has been dropped and the eagerly awaited W900 never even got started, but does this mean W810i is already here?

Has anyone else noticed the W900 in the Navy ads? I wonder how they got one? That ad came out last year before the release of the phone overseas...

Yeah carkitter, I lost my BB connection this week.
I think it was a naitonwide thing coz it was on the news.
I cracked up at the remedial advice given:

"Turn your PC off and then on again" LOL

Stink about the new Walkman phones not coming to NZ.
I ended up getting a W900 from Singapore.
