thank you sebby. fantastic easy to follow instructions. just what was needed. cheers. all flashed fine. 2 final questions - do i need to visit the sony ericsson update site & get the latest upgrade or is what i have now the latest? will i have access to the update service for future upgrades?

I can't get anything to download using the Davinci Flash app. Clicking on Server Status and Update Settings works fine, but when I click Get Files from Web it says 'Connection ok! Data receiving...' but just stalls there at 0%.
Any ideas? I'm hoping it isnt because my ISP uses a transparent cache causing propblems.

But where do Davinciteam get the firmware files from? Are these official distributed SE-files?

You can purchase access to the files and charge people (like us) a fee to get these files.

I noticed a lot of you use R6A but all sim free handsets from CPW Uk are R8A
