@Deuxani

That would be a great idea. Two for the price of one. A great music-player and a great camera.

Oh and by the way, a phone as well

"I hope, I think, it should have, I assume, I am expecting, I am dreaming of, hopefully, luckily, maybe, I am crossing my fingers," and many many other words like these are used in 99% in every setence here which makes me think if these rumours are based on something, or it is all expectation and imagination of people of what they want SE to present.

"People have been crying out for a killer device from . It would seem to me that the only way they could produce the ultimate attention-grabbing super device would for it to include both the best imaging and an excellent music player"

....and if you build it , they(and we) will come, branding or not.......

....who knows?? I may actually be able to change my signature again!

EDIT: Typical - it's dissappeared anyway(even though it's set to display always)!

Hello, first post and all that...

One question I havent really seen answered here... How long do these things usualy take from announcement to actualy being available on contracts?

My contract is up around Feb 8th and I want to change it, but I also want to wait for the new K770 if it isnt going to be too long... otherwise might just have to choose between the K800 or W810...

@stulane

Well after the P990i experience, it has been said that won't let us wait for too long after the official announcement.

However, I would imagine most of the upcoming phones wil be hitting the shelves from March onwards: six weeks after the official announcement would be a good guestimate.

btw. Welcome to esato

Do you think might be building up to releasing something like that?

yeah you are right goldenface. Release shouldnt be too long after announcement i hope, rnd (research and development) has improved over the years. And it looks as though this will be one of main goals this year, early as possible releases to help gain more market 'power'

And apparently a lot of the phones, well the ones which are to be announced shortly, are ready for mass production, they just need the 'go ahead'/orders ...So hopefully that results in earlier releases, especially for sofia which we all thought was june release like k800...But i think it should be april or may for sofia, i hope....

From one of my earlier posts:

Quote:In order to further strengthen its competitiveness in the emerging markets, Sony Ericsson is expected to adjust its strategy by outsourcing production of its mid-tier handsets to Taiwan makers, and demand that the contract makers focus on ultra-slim designs as well as adding multimedia functions to the handsets, the sources stated.

Under this new policy, Sony Ericsson has placed orders for four new models with Taiwan-based Arima Communications, and another two new models with Chi Mei Communication Systems (CMCS), with the two local companies expected to begin shipping the new products to Sony Ericsson in the second quarter of 2007, according to the sources.

So at least six will start rolling in the 2nd quarter from the Taiwanese makers alone. 4 of these are yet to be mentioned at all by
