Does the touchscreen malfunctions? My old p1 respond great with the touchscreen. Now Im scared to switch my n82 to w960. The touch screen interface walkman is what I like in this handset but with the touchscreen malfunctioning...how am i suppose to enjoy the walkman touch player?
if it ever goes malfunction, means your device is defective, so go and replace it, it should work marvellously otherwise

What are the chances that SE will apply the new FW update for the P1i to the w960i?? If so W960i owners will get in one update what p1i owners had to wait for 6months.

Anyone seen the review in t3 magazine for the w960 ?
Let's start with a minor negative point: The touchscreen is all but useless. For practically every function, you'll use the scroll wheel on the side and/or the phone keypad, because the screen is slow to respond, requires a stylus much of the time, and generally sucks donkeys.
Does not sound to complimentary does it ?
I'm strongly considering this phone but this does put me off a little?
Do people feel the above comments are justified ?
read the rest of it here

Sometimes the screen doesn't respond to a finger touch the way you want it to but no more so than most other phones (with multitouch phones like the iPhone being an exception) but generally its quite nice and works well in the media menu, which is key for this phone.
I guess scrolling in the normal menus is the biggest issue and you usually end up getting the stylus out to be quicker!

Guys another thing I noticed which I think is stupid for this phone. When I pluck in my ear piece I can only choose either slient mode or normal mode. When I am in office I wanted to on my speaker for radio but at the same time mute all other sounds (ie ringing tone, sms tone etc) it cannot be done.
As long as it is in "Slient" mode, we cannot switch on the radio on the speaker. I can only listen using the ear piece. Stupid right?? DAmn!! I had no prob when I was using my U600.
At the same time, My 2 other queries are:
1) Does it have miss call/sms reminder alert? So I think mine dos not remind me or vibrate whenever there is a miss call or unread sms.
2) For smsing, we can only input numerics into the "To" field initially? But if we want to choose names then we have to go into contact mode? unlike other SE models where we can immediately choose from alphabets?
Thks.

Have not tried but it should work just lowering the other "signals" to 0 exept Multimedia?? (not silent mode just "half silent" you will get another icon when lowering the Alarm, ringtone and message tone)
EDIT i tried it now, works to get the sound in the speaker, but as soon as any media is playing every other sound is "silent" except from the default BEEP BEEP that you can't remove.

no there is no such thing in any SE phone i think but there are sms managers (applications) you can run that has that and by your self deside how often it will vibrate/beep)

just tried you can type if you use the virtual keyboard but it does not work when sending
and choose directly wich phones? never had that on any of my SE models but then my last one was w900i ~2years old now.
