Look now, GUCCI, we've had numerous confirmations, even by SE themselves that the C905 uses a SONY sensor, not some cheap Samsung one.

The proven advantage of that being what exactly ?

The point being discussed here is not abt having an advantage of having a sony sensor, rather the point is negating the speculation tht c905 uses a samsung sensor , which i believe it did in prototypes (atleast thtz wht i read in this thread, if sum1 can confim this please)

First of all, it's a J2ME application, not A2. As explained earlier on, A2 is the user interface / software platform built upon the OS.

Anyway, I'm not sure of that, although I highly doubt it. It is possible to create a video player, though, so there's a very small chance of it being possible. Although I seriously doubt it.

If I remember correctly, WMV support is there. Ah yes, VC-1 (WMV9)

Lol, honestly now, who needs to do research to realise that both versions of the n95 sold like hot pancakes even though they weren't exactly cheap...don't mind me, i'm just thinking rationally.

I'm not disagreeing on that, they did sell very well, and still do.

Continuing on that rational thinking, Nokia does have a much larger customer reach than anybody else because of their size, so it's not really surprising that they sold more than any of the mentioned SE phones - if that's the case.

Thanks for bringing that up. So what's really surprising is that LG on the other hand, with a smaller customer reach than SE was able to effectively surpass SE. Hopefully that's got us all thinking. So much for customer reach size. Yes, Nokia offered people what they wanted, shear power in the form of the n95...

any 8mpix cam phone that will be released will need much more work and refinement. In real life unless you are a pro photographer you will never need that type of ability. the 8 mpix vs. the 5mpix is the matter of enlargement of photos mostly and the grain that you gain the bigger the image. 5mpix for an average user that takes standard size pics is more than sufficient, in reality even a really good 3.2 mpix is more than sufficient. so do you want fastest, bestest, trendiest or well proven photo solutions to play with unitl they iron out the kinks in the 8mpix world...? and C905 is nothing to drewel about, it looks like a brick and does not bring much to the table imo, but also take it with a grain of slat from a Nokia user that is currently using on top of the C902i also N95 and N82 and ocassionally N73. So C905 is not meant to be a smartphone but a good photo solution, because they chose so so materials in terms of hardware the results I supsect will also be so so for now....later it will all change but not any time soon
best,
*** This is what I have posted in another thread yesterday. I see that it applies perfectly right here...r.

Did you miss the fact that i have a K850? I know it can multitask, and ive been to GetJar many times, ive owned a W800, W900, temporarily had a W880 when my W900 got WSOD and now have a K850 so im aware of the capabilities which are LIMITED, but k850 is not my main phone.
J2me can cater for 90% of my needs? Realy?
Heres what i need of which i have on my lovely NOKIA N81:
Divx player
Avi support, Flv support, a browser with support for Flash8 content on web sites since im often on YouTube, an app that organises my Messages to a folder for each contact, an app that allows converting some of my podcasts to aac or anything i want on my phone, a Screenshot app, an app that allows me to reassign certain keys to do some functions in different apps, an app that allows me to use my wi-fi capable phone as a 3G modem for my PSP, and an app thats like LimeWire on my phone. Does J2me offer any apps that do this? Those are all my main needs. My N81 can do all of them some with 3rd party apps others it has native support for.

Well stone me!! all these years i have judged camphone quality on photographic output in the form of jpegs, when in reality i SHOULD have been looking at the brand name of the component parts utilised in construction!! (sic)

actually a samsung sensor is one of the best out there in the world. the sony sensor does not even do half as good of a job as samsung. the algorithms applied to each manufacturer differ and can be very hi end or low end...the sensor in c902 is a samsung i believe but the algorithms applied are not from a top shelf hence a bit of a difficulty getting really good pics unless you play with your phone and understand the settings and such.
