I believe it's fake. I think they're making destructive news for Xperia Z1 for the consumers to not buy it due to early feature of Z2.

Totally agree
Guys no more talking about Z2 until 2014 forum start
So what do you prefer us to talk about? there is nothing else to talk about...

The problem is that the Z1 just announced for sale, and we may over estimates the Z2 as usual which definitely will hurt Z1 sales
The only thing I want to say about Z2 that it is still 5.0"

I just realised the surface is on icore5 or 7.
Any possibility for sony to release a tablet using this architecture?
Of course I would consider it only if it sports another OS than Windows8, for instance, but not necessarilly, ubuntu touch.
Do insiders know if Sony is at least studying this possibility?

Thanks, I just did.
Design wise, it is getting closer to what I want, although it seemed on the pics that is has a fan, I would prefer a ipad like design without fans. I think it is doable as the mac book air or surface do not have fans that I know of.
Software wise, it sports windows 8 which is a deal breaker for me. One could say you can try and install ubuntu touch yourself, but I do not have time to learn how to do this, understand it cannot work for everybody.
So interesting, the lines are blurrier and blurrier between the andoid/arm "tablet" and the windows/x86 "tab". I am unsure how long the industry will manage to keep this artificial border.
I am not a supporter of ubuntu in particular, but i do hope at least a few makers will leverage ubuntu touch and give us a choice between x86 and arm where we can basically choose between processing power and battery life while keeping the same OS.

Save me having to look, can anyone tell me about the latest rumours of the Xperia Z1 Mini? I am pretty interested in this phone but only if it has the same camera as the Z1 and memory expansion, and a decent processor.
EDIT: Ah I see, Sony Ray 3, a quick google doesn't show much that I don't already know, so am I right in thinking CES may be when it's announced? Or are the indications that it will be announced this year?

I wonder if Sony would every consider developing their own SoC, using an ARM v8 instruction set.
Qualcomm are very good, but their Krait Cores, tend to not be as quick as the custom designed Swift Cores that Apple make, and certainly can't compete with the 5s' 64-bit Cyclone Cores. Not to mention their GPU's always tend to be inferior to Imagination Tech's PowerVR GPU's.

Sony Vaio Tap 11 is sooo much better than surface pro (note: surface pro is different from surface RT). The new Vaio Tap 11 is almost like ipad thickness (9.9mm without keyboard) and very light (780gm without keyboard). Please bear in mind this is a full fledge PC running on Intel Haswell processor (i3, i5 or i7) with windows 8 full version (not RT). I don't think Intel processor (i series) can run without fan or ventilation.
I believe you can install Ubuntu as a dual boot system on it since it is just like normal PC. This is a PC at the size of a tablet that can run heavy weight application (e.g. adobe photoshop, premier, Matlab, 3D software, AutoCAD etc).
Vaio Tap 11 is currently the thinnest and lightest PC. You can't compare with arm based tablet, it is totally different.

I'm guessing the Z2 would arrive at MWC 2014 (last week of february) which would fit with well with a 6m schedule.
