May the GPU, battery life and pixel peepers Rest In Pieces.

I'll let someone else list the thousand reasons why that would be a stupid thing to do.

And there's only one thing for it: marketing.

I find that very hard to believe regardless.

@shotokan81

Its not that difficult or troublesome to install Ubuntu either as single OS or dual boot, with a bootable usb disk, you can try it to make sure al the drivers are working before installing. But yeah, a factory installed Ubuntu Vaio will be better since everything will be taken care of.

I might be in a minority, but I like windows 8 very much more than windows 7. I do have MacBook pro and while I agree that MacOS run smoothly with nice gesture base operation, I don't like some of the limitations of that OS. In terms of OS speed, windows 8 actually run faster and more fluidic than MacOS. With windows 8 (running on Vaio Duo 11), the boot up speed(from complete shutdown) is 5 seconds (maybe its due to the SSD hard disk), but the OS is very speedy even in all other operations.

Sorry for the OT...but I hope discussing about other Sony stuff(e.g. vaio) should be okay...😉

Has anyone seen ane leaks from Qualcomm, what is their roadmap for 2014, what kind of SoCs will be available? I saw someone mention the AB version of the S800 for Z2. Any leaks when we can expect to see 64-bit ARMv8 designs, e.g. Cortex A53s?

A53 SoC`s will be announced at CES 2014 and should be in phones in Q2.

I'm guessing the Z2 would arrive at MWC 2014 (last week of february) which would fit with well with a 6m schedule.

Z2 will come at the last week of May start selling at July or even those schedule can be push further

that looks more like one flagship per year

Thanks, but doesn't that mean we'll need a 64-bit Android by then, maybe the L release (5.0 ?). Released around Google IO 2014 ? Wouldn't it make more sense for the Z2 to have that SoC vs the 8974AB, which will be seen as a bit behind the curve then ?

Then it's not so mini after all. Comparing it with Nexus 4 which has dimensions of 133.9 x 68.7 x 9.1 and 4.7 screen.

edit: found a perfect phone to compare:

Xperia S: 128 x 64 x 10.6 mm
Xperia Z1 mini: 132*64*10.5mm

Considering that both phones have 4.3 screen and same width, the Z1 mini will have big bezel :/
