This photo was analysed extensively a few hundred pages ago.

If you're going to post regularly at least read regularly too.

@Felimenta

About Linux, I guess I'm just bad lucky, because my desktop PC has a quite bad AMD Atlhom X2 processor, and I heard Ubuntu (which was the distro I tried to install) has problems with AMD processors. The three times I tried to dual boot it with Windows 7, and the three times I failed to boot after the first reboot.

I understand, linux is hell when hardware does not work out of the box. For your problem, you could try linux mint, it worked on my fujitsu and an old toshiba with some exotic components.

But generally speaking, this is why I want hardware drivers fully suported by Sony/the maker.

About Metro [...] It may get a while used to, but give it a try (if you haven't)...

No way! Life is too short!

@MyP910

Its not that difficult or troublesome to install Ubuntu either as single OS or dual boot, with a bootable usb disk, you can try it to make sure al the drivers are working before installing. But yeah, a factory installed Ubuntu Vaio will be better since everything will be taken care of.

Depends on what your PC is, i had too many trial and errors, i will sitck to my mac until some maker create what I want.

I feel that I will not have to wait that long:
- Ubuntu touch is coming in October (although not heard of hardware partners yet...)
- iPads and androids tablets have hurt the PC industry, but Windows 8 is killing it. I know that you guys are cool with it but look at the industry as a whole the sales numbers are clear and consumers vote with their money.
- Microsoft is becoming a "device and services" company. How many OEMs are happy and comfortable with that? I think Microsoft will lose these parnerships and their grip on hardware makers (sorry if this seems like stating the obvious for some of you as it is already hapenning with android tablets over Windows RT). Actually, I think Microsoft considers they do not need OEM partners anymore in the long term (Nokia "devices"=30,000 additional employees...)

If you like Sony you can actually do them a favor and wake them up.
Go to the custom PC counter near you, ask for a ubuntu PC or ubuntu touch tablet, make sure they escalate your need internally, and do it again.

It is just my two yen, of course!

Sorry for the OT...but I hope discussing about other Sony stuff(e.g. vaio) should be okay...😉

Also sprry, this is an attempt to discuss the future of Sony tablets at a time when devices and platforms tend to converge, so it could be branded xperia or vaio, actually...

I don't think ipads and androids can kill PC industry. They are not at the same level due to reason stated before. You can't use ipads and androids to run big applications and on top of that, they are not suitable for enterprise solution. You will see that people will carry two items with them....ipad/android tablet and PC and this is where Vaio tap 11 can have upper hand since it is two in one (tablet and PC).
