looking at the k750i firmware post you'll find that the R1N035 generic firmware was released on seus on the 12th Sept 2005 however the o2 version was not available for a further 4 weeks (ok there were a few problems i believe) the orange version was available within 2 weeks of the generic version being available on seus.
so hopefully branded users dont have too long to wait but you never know. there might not be any release at all.

Refer to first page, R1ED001 - Ability to set an Application as a Wallpaper now available (application needs to be specifically coded for use as wallpaper). Anyone can tell me what application can be used as wallpaper???

I don't think you can set the OBEX timing. It is probably a communications error as the timing is usually set by the software. Have you done the customary, turn off and on the phone, un-install and re-install the software? I am not a Windows person, Mac and Linux so I can not be much help there.

OK well for fun I just plugged my K790i and updated through SEUS to R1EG001. Even though I have an East Asian Language model (APAC, to be exact) it didn't update to R1EJ001 or whatever was mentioned on the first page.
For now, one difference I notice is that the "fade to bright" (ie. from unlocking to brightness) transition is a lot smoother now.
Will report more as the days go by.

I have said this post after post after post. There is no garantee that there will be a release for branded users. No one says that there has to be any releases at all. However this is lost on almost everyone here. SE has not, in any document I have read, stated that they will release updates. They state that from time to time they
MAY release an upgrade. The continued complaining and demanding that SE release an upgrade is pointless, and shows a lack of sophistication and a propensity to dwell on the non-sequitor. Having a functioning purchase is a right but many of the issues that are popping are the products of too much idle time and not enough understand that when you design and develop things, they tend to not be perfect.
