Dear All,
It might not be the right place for this question but I will ask:
Has anybody succeeded to make the G900 show the number together with the name of the caller on incoming calls - i.e. like this was on earlier Symbian phones like P800 or like Windows mobile devices.
I have been surfing the net the whole day, but I did not find any tool to make this possible - like there are such for S60 models - Best Full Screen Caller, Photo Caller ID etc.
Has anybody found a tool or mod for achieving this - that the name and the number of the caller show simultaneously?

Thanks in advance!

@scoobysnax: Is it a brand new G900 or a used one?

Hi, yes its a new g900, its from china so has the chinese firmware on it. Going to re-flash it eventually to the british or generic firmware, just had it for a few days...

If it is really brand new then it is faulty, but someone could still have tempered with it? I am no expert with this but I guess it has faulty/alternated CDA number, so it shows up as being that phone in SEUS. If you do the firmware update the phone will definitely not start again. So I suggest that you either take it to a service center or change the CDA yourself (google or esato should have all the information you need, but you need to search a lot or find some expert who can give you a step by step guidance).

cheers, done a cda change / de-brand with davinci before with another phone so Ill give it a bash with this one in a few days, got the tutorial thats on this forum too so might go for the free one instead, re-flash to the worldwide cda then firmware update to get the latest one. Is this one quite easy to perform? looks slightly more complicated than davincis one...

Thanks for the help.

I changed my CDA to World Generic as well, can't remember if it was with Davinci, did it almost one year ago... The firmware update itself will be no problem. Good luck!

Hi folks, any idea if you can get a better batter battery for the g900? ie: a 1500mAh one? I see that you can get them from the likes of ebay etc but none look official ones, not too keen on putting a non-official battery in my phone!

The one that comes in the phone is a 950mAh one...

Cheers,

Just to say, done the change of CDA to generic worldwide, all went well (using Davinci) wasnt too bothered about paying for it as used them before and like the fact its pretty simple!

All good and I can enjoy my phone with the optimal firmware!

Good to hear that your phone solved its identity crisis and now knows that it is a G900
