Yes, I use it as my alarm and if you have the phone speaker facing the table the sound is tremendously loud!

Sometimes embaressingly loud when I'm in the office and everything is really quiet and the ringtone hits off. The external speaker although mono plays music very well too without the sound breaking.

You have to download the Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS) and the USB drivers for the W960 onto your PC, install them, then run the SEUS with your phone plugged in (basically follow on-screen instructions on your PC). You will know immediately if an update is available for your phone.
Maratonmannen just opened a thread about a FW update being available for World Generic 1.

i got the w960i, afte r afew months of wasiting, i finally got it ,LOVE it, although i still prefer 2 use key pad for typing, asi believe its much quicker?

ok i will, umm righ now, im transferring some songs to yhte music folder o nthe fone, i done this by instlaling the SE pc suite, and clicking on" file manageR", tis tkaing a long time to transfer songs, the songs in total are only 355 mb, and its still transferring, is tehre a faster way?

dont worry, i figured it out, ( u use fast file transfer mde lol ) neways, since this is a candy bar phone, i am thinking of getting a protective film for the screen to protect aginst scratches. if i get one, will the touchscreen still work perfectly?
