Faisal and Bono, do you guys using tripod for night shots?
Mine (xperia Z2) turned out blurry most of the time w/o tripod.

I always take low light & night shots using Night Scene in Manual Mode. Night scene mode has interesting mechanism, it has a some kind of handshake detection. If you are shaking your hand too much, the night scene mode will select fast shutter speed to avoid blur, and the more stable your hands are the night scene mode will select low ISO of 80-250 & exposure time of 0.5-0.8s.
Oh sometimes I use tripod to take night shots but sometimes I use my own hands as well. But using the latter is a pain in the a$$ as I have to carefully position my hands, body posture, and even my breath to take perfectly stable night shots with exposure times of 0.8s

Here is a bit of a tutorial on focusing & metering modes.
Focus:
- Multi autofocus: useful when there are many objects in one scene. Example: Several dishes in a dining table.
- Touch focus: commonly used for focusing on one particular object, most useful for macros.
- Face detection & object tracking: do as their name suggest.
- Single autofocus: I never use it as it was proven unhelpful as it stays on a viewfinder constantly and I have to move the phone to get a proper focus.
Metering Modes:
- Centre: the most common metering mode. Useful for shooting a potrait of people
- Average/Matrix: useful for landscapes
- Spot: useful for macros and close ups. Combine spot metering with HDR is very useful for shooting potrait with strong backlight behind it.
As for the night shots in my photostream: I really doubt cameraphones such as iphone 6 plus, galaxy note 4, and LG G3 can do as good as Xperia Z2 does
