Just had a reply form the SE UK Call Centre today regarding the P990i's release:
"With regards to your enquiry, the Sony Ericsson P990 is planned to be released towards the end of this month."
So looks like good news then.

"planned" ,i cant see it being out until at least middle/end of july(unfortunately)

Why not? They used the phrase "is planned" rather than "was planned", and my question was specifically about when the P990i be released.
Mind you, doesn't mean it will actually be available retail this month, but I certainly think it will be released - especially if their Q2 deadline is to be met.

Which could in turn land you in a whole lot of trouble if you allow strangers access to the internet through your wireless network.
They could commit all sorts of online crimes, such as paedophilia, hacking, credit card fraud etc, and it would all come back to your pc, since you're the one providing the service.
A very good point, It is a nice concept bandwidth sharing, but the reality is criminals & perverts love the web more than any of us.
The FON-system loggs every connection and everyone that connects through my FON-router is a member on FON with personal information in the login and so. It's not like you have the wifi open for everyone. Only people in the FON-network. And it seems to be figured out how to "be safe". You dont even share your own network.. the FON router can be totaly outside you homenet.

Why the change of heart - above you were saying you thought a mid/end of July was realistic?
Don't suppose you'd care to mention which supplier it would be that is claiming availability this coming Friday?

Interesting, considering they told me yesterday that the P990 is planned for this month.
Isn't the M600i technically already "released" though, albeit not readily available yet.
