I am still not feeling the screen. It looks dim and uncolorful. I really hope the retail version would be as bright as the Iphone 3GS and with vivid and vibrant colors.

About the multi-touch patent by Apple, does it also cover Canada or in US only? If not, would it be ok to assume that when X10 is released by Rogers it will support multi-touch?

most likely apple has a multi-touch patent in canada as well... so probably not.

There is nothing in the whitepaper. Speculation is 256MB RAM + 128MB of dedicated video RAM.

And where can I buy the other components, so I can assemble the x10 myself?

according to this vid:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnbS8FXyf1g

there already is a version of the X10 that runs on ATT 3G bands! Which means once it is released, it may be a worldwide release at least for unlocked versions!! I SURE HOPE SO!! The camera is poorly focused but you can still see that the UI is fairly quick and responsive. I'd love to hear more information as far as the amount of dummy information to see how it effects performance of the timescape UI at least. the media scape UI seems to be very quick. Timescape seems to stutter a bit here and there.

Can't wait!

I have been following the discussions going on in the comments section at the SE product blog. As much as I want to feel optimistic, reading the posts by the sony ericsson guys posting there, its more or less certain that SE x10 will be running android 1.6 at LAUNCH.They have given reassuring statements that 'SE has full faith in its customized UI even though its running android 1.6' etc which makes it clear anyway.
Now the next two big issues are the pricing and a subsequent android 2.0 update. I really hope SE gets the pricing right as it's the factor which will decide whether the sales live up to the hype. And as far as the subsequent 2.0 update goes I don't expect SE to do us such a big favor. Simply because its too much of an effort to port the customizations to 2.0 and I dont think they'll put in that much resources once they already have our money.
I might sound a bit cynical but sadly thats the way SE works. For eg: take the case of the Satio. Satio is now the ONLY S60v5 device which doesn't have kinetic scrolling throughout its UI. Although am not much of a Nokia fan, I respect them when it comes to customer satisfaction for they indeed go the extra mile. I mean they just released an update for the now 'redundant' 5800 xpressmusic, providing much needed kinetic scrolling throughout its UI. Can you expect SE to release such a major update for a device more than a year old? When I asked for the same for the satio on the product blog, I didn't get the response I wanted to hear. Although one of the reps did agree to 'pass the message' to the higher powers'. Neither will we get an equalizer and other basic stuff which were long considered as a part of the standard feature set that modern phones necessarily come with.
Hope SE gets the pricing right this time and go that extra mile for us end users too. I wish SE has learnt its lessons from the past. Only time will tell.
