I think Acoustic Surface will not be used on Xperia soon because the actuators, source of sound wave, vibrate a lot. Vibration is bad for LCD screen, it may break screen cell. That's why Sony decided to use it on OLED TV.
Even if new Xperia come with OLED display, I doubt they can make a decent sound because the panel is really small compare to TV panel. Sound direction will be a mess.

Id prefer a concave or flat screen over a convex/ 2.5d - which alot of phones are going in that way Sony 2017 phones, xa 2 ultra, samsungs edges s7 8 etc
But if It is again 2.5d it is what it is.
