Tof sensor will have wider applications in the future

Sumaho says someone posted a photo of a battery on comment session of an article from android police.
And this photo would be battery of new phone.
This battery is 3300mAh.
I hope this is a joke ..... They cant use less than 3550.
I think this is the battery from XA2.

A nice little middle finger for fans. Only one major update for xz1 when s6 got security update. Cool move. 👍

Just speaking in theory, it is possible that a CMOS can be both, while focus is fast enough and capable in any environment

That is what happens when you put new android ...
XZ1 with 8.0 out of box is like shipping with 7.1 and skip 8.0 before giving 9.0.
XZp got two updated already, no way they give 10 to xz1.
Probably 10 will be end of xz3.

So the ToF on the xz4/10Z will be a hybrid 3d depth and 2d image sensor. There are some of that from Toshiba I guess but that would be first on mobile right?
And for the xz1 update, no matter which version it came with it's not old enough. Even android one phones have longer support albeit stops at 2 year mark.

Most devices announced between september and december have the previous android.
Then they give 2. No android 10 for xz1 because xzp is not getting anyway.
Same cpu, same updates.
As far as I know all phone with OIS have 1/2.55" or smaller.
All sensors with DP AF are 12MP 1/2.55".
Unless they use the Bionz hardware, I'll never forgive if they use this sensor...
I want RGB + mono, both with DRAM.
A big phone like z ultra with 7.7mm would easily have space for 1".
BONUS: naughty move from Xiaomi, using 4K vid as default setting to earn more points from DxO. They test default settings and all other phones are set
1080@30.
Bonus 2: XZ2 is still #1 gsmarena photo tool....

What would be the point of having the latest out of the box then?
Anyway. I believe htc had a 1/2.3 with ois.
But sensor size is not just a matter of 2d space, you would probably need a bigger or further lens to actually use all that sensor. It would be too thick. There are already 4 cam setups which combined could likely reach 1" area

What's the point of showing the functions of ToF camera inside a video in their YouTube channel, if they're not going to put it in their phones someday? Typical Sony.

Because that video was for their clients too, they not only sell hardware, They also sell software, licenses and code libraries
