The push email is just like the blackberry, it doesnt alert you., it actually recieves the email.
You need to have a supported service such as intellisync, RIM or one of the others.
You just register your phone with your server on our case Intellisync. The phones GPRS is always on and the server knows your IP address. Whenever it detects an email has arrived in your mailbox it will then forward this onto your IP address. If your GPRS drops the software on the phone simply re-registers the IP with the server.
Push is fantastic, we use it with our P900's (you have to install the software) and intellisync but you will need a corporate email server such as Lotus Domino, Outlook or Groupwise. You cant use it for POP3 as your POP3 server doesnt support the push protocols.
Another note, ive had it waiting. Im saying bye bye SE and symbian and hello Windows mobile 5. You can only wait so long and being almost 6 months late it is just taking the pi55 a little.

I think I'm leaving symbian also and will be heading for wm5. It's just too long waiting, and all that time i did an inquiry about wm5 and htc's models and I'm impressed!

At the end of the day wm5 is just another computer. Not as much fun as Symbian. Been there done that. I stay with Symbian.

I understand what you mean, but what are we expecting from a smartphone as well? To act like a computer. So we have an OS and we can run and install software.
Why is Symbian more fun?
Ok, it's more simple and you won't get problems like wm5 if you play around with the registry or something else.
But in wm5 you have more possibilities (and software)

problem is lack of device choice. WM5 you can select ones with or without keyboards, big ones small ones shiney ones black ones silver ones.
UIQ3 or even UIQ2 for that what are your choices? Pxxx and 1 or 2 more.
The Jamin is slightly smaller in build than the 990 but with the same resolution screen. Its out now, costs about £400 sim free which will no doubt be £100-£200 cheaper than the 990 should it ever get released. With no details or possible dates from SE whats the point. My company tasked me with finding a P900 replacement. The P990 was it, we will now be buying Jamin's for everyone. Time is important.

I was downtown in sthlm today and talked to Telenor,... they still got the dates july/august.
But ill guess as long SE said Q2 to us, we wont change our minds about it until they tell us a Q3 =)
I saw the screen down there that they are getting it july/august.. bad news for us.

whos to say that wont slip again.
The thing will be ready for a newer model by the time its out.
Too late and it could spell the end for SE's UIQ work. With companies loosing interest and moving elsewhere this delay will no doubt hit them hard.
They dont want the sales to the odd SE die hard fan here and there. They want to the business market, the companies who install the thing across their entire fleet and buy them by the box. Still no indication of final price or availability this is just getting stupid.
Do we really expect them to announce it all then release the following week? It can take weeks if not months to get them on the shelves.

Also the m600 was rejected by telenor, and was sent back, telenor's staff taught that it was too buggy, so SE got them back. But i think thats just telenor that sent them back. According to SE its fine.
