I guess the markets ARE really different then. I see alot of high-end phones in the U.S., but the predominant phones are the low to mid range phones.

@aksd,
i wonder what part of india you come from.
what you see most in india these days is the use & throw fake chinese crap.
even in the most popular malls of bombay you get to see mostly chinese phones with no name/model#.
the average indian uses cdma because the phone & calling rates are cheap infact free if you are calling a person using the same cdma network.
step into any kind of public transportation & then look around for the phones indians use. you will not find a single e90/n95 but you will find a nokia 1110i in every hand.
i have no clue where you found indians who earn $300 monthly & own a $500 n95?
probably in your circle alone.
hrithik roshan in the sony ericsson commercial flashes a w200i & in the airtel commercial shahrukh khan flashes a 1200 & not a p1i/e90 respectively, because that is not what the average indian can afford.
india is the largest market for used mobiles in the world.
it's nice to have a high esteem of one's own country but no point in falsely glorifying it.
it seems the india you speak of is limited to pali hill/chanakya puri but you forget that over 60% india is still rural having limited electricity & no street lights.
lol, sorry for spoiling your show.

Autumn starts in mid September for the northern hemisphere, so I guess that makes it spring in the southern???
That info isn't specific enough, Leks. SE already announced the release being in the "2nd half of 2008"

I have to agree with AKSD, my WM runs out of battery quicker if I leave lot's of apps open.
Normaly i leave gdesk, contacts, calendar, swiss manager, x-plore, escarpod, control panel, advance call manager, phone anti-theft, iphone lock all running on background on my P1, everyday, and the battery life is still very good....
It'd be better without running those, but having said that I don't actually have a problem with battery life of the P1, or for that matter some HTC models. My HW6915 has excellent battery life and fantastic standby time, whether a lot of apps are running or not. Standby time is reduced when lot's of apps remain open (even if they are not functioning), but it's still a satisfactory standby period. I get days and days of standby time (though I don't use it as a phone that often so it's mostly in flightmode when in standby).
But if you use it as a phone everyday then it has to be charged everynight, and in that case you wouldn't notice any difference if you left apps open or not. In such a case open apps are insignificant next to the use of the radio (phone or wifi or bluetooth).
If you are using a PDA as a phone then as long as you can get easily through the day with your pattern of calls and wifi use then the battery is adequate in my book. If you do more than 4-5 hours of talk or 1-1.5 hrs of wifi (or combinations thereof) per day, then you'd need to look t PDA's with better than average talktime.

Does this mean the back of the X1 is plastic and only the cover is brushed steel?
Idk how the final product will look but it kinda look a bit cheap in this picture.

How come we saw all these models at Cebit.08 already? And they were fully working...I played with them!? Are you somehow way behind with your meetings or does this only mean that the models you see at your meetings are very close to release to the market??
Greetz.
