The colour balance, contrast and sharpness reminds me of K750/W800 quality which is a pleasant thing to know indeed because now its detail would have increased by a few folds

I think he just doesn't know what he's talking about. He's calling digital zoom optical zoom. Look at the image which he says is using optical zoom, it's shockingly bad for optical zoom and looks exactly like my C902's shots on full digital zoom (something like 16x I think).
