autofocus (macro off) test results in no light (total darkness) and with 25W lightbulb. I have compared original AF method and new method implemented since v6.3.3
- more than 100 shots
- quick switch between old and new method to minimize changes in camera position
1. at first I took some sequences of 2 pics (one pic for every method). in most situations results from both methods are identical but there was also wrong results with first or second method. when I write 'wrong' I mean totally failed or focused at wrong distance. it's hard to take serious this comparision - this is the edge of AF accuracy (it is because of low light) and you cannot believe in results which can be almost random
2. I took sequences of 4 pics (two pics for every method). in some situations one pic was good while second pic was wrong for the same method - for 2 identical shots when I didn't moved camera at all! I tried this again and again and result was still the same - good or wrong. answer for random results from previous test appeared immediately: AF algorithm results may vary for exactly the same scene and method
3. I took additional shots to take a closer look at problematic situations
- scene #1: 6 attempts - old method all 6 failed, new method all 6 good
- scene #2: 6 attempts - old method 3 times good, new method 5 times good
I tried to find scene where old method is better than new method - no success but of course I'm not saying that's impossible. my observations are exactly the same like it was in huge test of v6.3.3 before I released it
both methods are good and in some situations both can fail. wrong results are quite normal for poor light conditions and no one should expect miracles. nothing surprized me, I don't see nothing unusual in any method in weak light but to be fair, new method gave considerable more good results in test #3

i use original driver...
autofocus deadlock is always happen, because of dark object and low light, but, keep trying, and you got it!!!
and the details is awesome on my pics!!!
