Is it possible we could chart which phones can be updated and which can't (yet) on the first page? I've got a UK 02 handset which currently doesn't allow the R1N upgrade, so for the moment, against 02 you can put 'No'

Not true. Mine's on o2 and I've successfully done the update to R1N within the past hour.

Hmm, very weird. Just tried it again and I'm being told that my device is already up to date. Here is the log entry :

U.K. Update available NOW!!

Simply go to:

C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\software-data

or wherever the Sony Ericsson update service is installed on your pc and delete the contents of this folder. next, run the update and voila!

update to R1N035 done.

Yup hes right. This is what I did for my UK phone and it worked.

That folder is empty on the PC I'm using for the update, that was one of the first things I checked. This particular PC has only just had the update software loaded etc., so has never had a previous update on it. Any other suggestions?

UPDATE : Even though it says the device is up to date, I've initiated an update anyway, to see what happens.

It's doing the update now, but when I look in the Program Files\Sony Ericsson folder, I see that the R1L files are there. Once the update has finished, I'll delete those files and try it again, as per the suggestions mentioned earlier.

The 02 users, are your phones O2 branded phones?
