@ 2uk3y: yess, it makes a different for me, then only put the 2_play file in the folder, with the whole folder the quality of the mp3 sounds better than before, but maybe it's my personal taste..

O.K. I am trying it. I really don't know that I can tell the difference but will try it for a while and let you know. I asume you have combined this version with original R1bc files??.

maybe using earphone not much different .....
by using big speaker like 5.1 speaker system or above u can hear the different....
esspecially the bass...... very2 loud n clear .......
to hear which driver is the best.... just set the volume like maybe 1/2....
then test it..... which one is better..........???

hi mongoose, max_wedge and others have stated that the megabass distortion is fixed. Have you tried the new edited PHF_2play file? i can't test it of yet cause my handsfree is broken. Sounds like a perfect driver.

I wouldn't say it was fixed as such, but it was a LOT better. But what I was really impressed with was the general audio quality improvement (which is I suspect why the megabass wasn't so distorted). That's in comparo to R1BC - so maybe if as mongoose says R1L drivers are good, I compare my current "fixed" driver against R1L, I may not find much difference. I'll give it a go when I get a chance.

got the pleasure to try that.
the r1l distorts on megabass near the highs and has very low volume. crackles and such is more present.
the w900i file has higher volumes, megabass is improved heaps and is totally fixed if you use better earphones(distorts abit when its on the very max volume for the hpm-70) and there is less crackles. hell yeah, thats how you role. XD

The driver delivers BETTER sound minus distortion, no doubt. But from what I have seen, the quality sound can only be experienced when you're using the SE earphones. When I connected my w800i to my surround system, nothing seem quite right. Either the Bass was not punchy enough, or the mid-frequenies were too high; I just could not get the kind of sound a normal mp3 player(non-mobile) would deliver. Is it something to do with the driver. The surround system can't be the culprit as i have been using it for quite some time now and to my satisfaction. Any suggestions??? Thanx

Set the equalizer to normal or try manually setting the equalizer(preset).
Tried the w800i in my friends car using subwoofers. sounds normal to me when on the right settings.
