I have upgraded to R5A17 and I restored the back up I created just before updating. Untill now everything works fine but this was the first time ever that the call log was not re restored. It is not very important but it seems strange to me. Of course there was no restoration of voice commands (like always). The pictures I have in the contacts are not blured this time, I replaced them before the back up and they came out fine with the restoration. Also there is a secured bank site I hade problems accessing with all previous firmwares which works now for the first time with P990i ( it also worked with P910i)

Everyone goes on about shortcuts. At i think we shoulg bug SE about this problem of not having them. The most unnoying thing for me is that there is no shortcut in the messaging. When you finish writing sms message why not have a shortcut to click SEND button? Ir is there a way that i'm not aware of?

ATTENTION:

I just found that this fw does not tell the SEUS system its there... what I mean is that every time I connect to SEUS, the system is telling me I can get the newest update. I felt for it 3 times... no more!

So I will not check SEUS for a while. Just for you to know that you don't fall for this too...

And by the way, its NOT changing anyting, no version change and no change in the date it defaults to.

In any case, every time I made it reflash with that NEW version (it is actually downloading all the time a new version and not using the one on the pc already!) the performance improved.

I did not write earlier, even though I did the first flash in the morning, because I did not actually see and feel any improvement besides the obvious (bar, transition on/off, etc). But now, it is indeed faster and performing better.

However, still much is missing, including the option to select gp3 or mp4 when video recording.

More if and when I find it. By the way, swiss manager pro works for me, just did not enable the icon, but I never do. I only use it to automatically close programs when closing the flip.

- What is the restored settings include?i mean do they include call log, fm radio preset stations..etc?or these settings include something else?as actually when i do an update i restore only my contacts.
- I also don't use the icon of SMP as i use it only for reclaiming is it work fine?
- do handy clock and agile are working fine?
-finally,do the psiloc crystal arabic 1.31 works fine?

Well, it depends WHAT you select WHEN making the backup! If you select only Contacts, then those are the only thing restored.

I for example backup everything, but the memory stick. I had NEVER ever any problem which restoring anything. 3rd party applications are mostly NOT restored anyways.

However, every time there is a new firmware out, I make a new backup with that fw for restoring!

Radio I don't use so I only read earlier that somebody could restore those. Read a few earlier posts here in that thread.

Guys, if you liked this fw, i can tell you r6 will be huge...i already droped some hints in other forums, and everyday i get more info confirming it...what all of you can count is se keep increasing the effort in making the p990 what it should be...better late than never lol

Ares..i should call you the super news man,do you think i should update or wait?i'm afraid some major apps do'nt work as i do't want to wait until their companies make new update and what is the problem with fm radio?actually i just want to restore my contacts if i want to update!
