Oui M Doggmann.

Je peux lire et ecrivez le francais mais je n'utile pas un mobile francais dans ma vie...

peut-etre le temps est maintenant?

EN:

Yes Mr Doggmann.

I can read and write french but i have never used a french mobile in my life...

Maybe the time is now?

@ Penx, I called ofcom earlier, who told me that because it was a commercial product I needed to call consumer direct, did that who in turn told me i need to speak to competition commission, who in turn told me I need to speak to otelo (telephone ombudsman), who in turn referred me back to consumer direct..

notice a recurring pattern?

Haha, an all too familiar story. Well, good luck anyway if you're going to follow it up with Consumer Direct again.

Personally I dont see what the big deal is, if they giving you a gateway to buy the phone without a contract and you and I know that we are more than capable to unlock it, why subject your time and energy to this hassle of trying to get them to provide you an unlock code?

As you are aware you can actually downgrade the baseband on 1.1.2 to either .1 or 0.1 and unlock from there. Unless you requiring french language support thats a different story.

@themarques

Because:
- if you're hacking your iphone then it's a legal grey area
-I guess you void your warantee
- you're liable to brick your iphone especially if you want to upgrade to newer firmware
- for those people that aren't that technical or are worried about security, they'd rather do it by officially unlocking the phone than running some hacks

Can O2/Apple actually unlock the iphone without having to plug it into a computer? Most phone manufacters make a unlock code for their phones but i doubt apple have.
