HTC ! ! ! What are you talking about? As far as I know, Nokia never sold a s60 licence to HTC. (Or should I say - HTC and SE for that matter, could not afford one) Windows Mobile is not a contender - what I am concerned. For the past few years, s60 rules. Is the operating systems of choice. All the others are pretty much irelevant. Only windows pc version, has sold more - not by much though. On the other hand you are right with Samsung. My only gripe with them is the bad after-sales customer service. As much as I hate to admit, all in all, the n97 is the best package for now.

It doesn't have to be S60 to be a competitor. Nokia has to market the N97 to all sorts of people, which includes WinMo, iPhone, Android, and WebOS users.

You are in for some serious disappointment over the next few years.

I won't be getting the n97 by the looks of things, as it just to expensive. Vodafone want £200 for it on my staff account! Has nobody told Nokia and Vodafone about the recession.

How ironic. A few years ago, someone on this very same forum, said the same thing,as a answer to one of my postings. And guess what - I am still waiting for the BIG competition to come
Either way, I hope you are right! After all, I don't want to see a repeat of Micro$oft dominance. The Symbian foundation (basically Nokia/S60) is running the show what smart cell are concerned. I am sure, not even you will play 'ostrich' on this fact.

Consider me entirely ostrich on that "fact", thanks! LMAO
