Just picked up a white 32gb... at 10:30... picked up from o2.... no queueing

Hey... if you are that way inclined.... and I am because I tried it... slipped the 3G S box in the old 3G box... Some clever packaging bods at Apple....

Massuer, just out of curiosity, what happens when you plug your new 3GS into iTunes - is there any possibility of restoring the data and settings from your old phone onto the new one, or does it have to be set up as a whole new device? Presumably all the apps you bought on/for the 3G can be put straight onto the new one?

can't answer that until tonight when I get home, unfortunately, so someone else will probably fill us in on those questions
I'm assuming the content will also synch over, just as it did when I got my 3G replaced a few weeks ago, and since its the same O/S I don't see any harm in the settings synching over too

Boinng... Masseur is right.... I am doing just that at the moment... gives you an option in iTunes to set up for a new iphone.... or your iphone profile from previously synced

Ho well, wait and see I guess. I've always liked the idea of just being able to transfer *everything* when you change phones, and keep all your old SMS and everything else when you upgrade each year, I'm interested to see if that's possible with the iPhone.

Apple are at least halfway there already with the OS update service - if OS 3 had been a new Windows Mobile rom for example, you can bet we'd all have wiped clean phones and unusable backups right now..

EDIT - just seen Smiler's post, great news!

when I had the palm V and Vx it used to work like this. update th O/S or get a replacement device and simply resynch it all back

WM is really lacking in this department for sure.

o2 near me had sold out, CPW had them and were willing to sell on PAYG but when I asked about returns policy was told there was none unless faulty.

Gutted lol really wanted to try one but its a lot of money to spend when i dont know if i would get on with the keyboard for texting, all previous touch screen phones i have used (and it has been many) have been poor with this and led to me getting rid, and I know the iphone is meant to be better for typing but I need to be able to use it for a week to see really

Do O2 offer a 14 day return on PAYG iphones if they have been used?
