^^ Just like K770/T650 it uses a Samsung module, all SE camphones after K750 were suffering from excessive N-R and oil painting effect, otherwise from extreme noise like in C702 and C510. i think i realized the fact that Sony mobile CMOS sensors are very poor in terms of noise handling. They better start putting their own ccds on their camphones instead as it is their last best effort to promote good image quality output from a sony hardware imho. Satio image quality isn't as impressive as pixon12 right now, and i don't expect miracles once it's released.

why ?
Here is a clue
*Recl: The Renoir felt very good outdoors and maybe the sharpening was a bit high but that was nothing that bothered me. In sunny conditions many pics got really stunning in my eyes. I rate it as the best "sunny/good light" shooter i have owned (i have not tried the innov8) but the problem was that it totally sucked indoors in lower light. Always choosing a to high iso and really awful images. You could set the iso maually but i never found the "right" value. Either to dark or again, blurry and awful.. The flash was almost useless. Donīt know if recent firmware updates have improved the phone but i was not happy with that.
c901 seems good for me. I like SE post processing of the pics and i feel the c901 pics a bit sharper than c902. The % of good pics is really high and this means itīs a good allrounder. Flash not as strong as n82 but it produces nicer skintones and is strong enough for partypics and stuf like that. In good light i dont get the oilpainting like pics that the n82 gives with trees and grass. I also feel the focus system very good, itīs hard to fail a shot. Colours feels very real and so on... Im so happy with it that i recently sold my Canon ixus digicam. The c901 is good enough for my demands and snapshots.

the only thing good from this phone comes from samsung.let's be honest, except the camera, what else can this phone offer?
Last I checked, it's labelled a Cybershot. So it doesn't take a genius to know that it's stong suit would be its camera. It doesn't lag behind in any other area either. Just like K800, it will sell for the camera (and reasonable price) and not for anything else, it did win the Best Imaging Experience award so it's up to SE to sell that further. You want any other stuff, there's the Entertainment Unlimited phones, go bark up that tree if you're unhappy with anything there. I just feel that a C901 cam module in a C510 body would've been a really good decision for SE, too bad it doesn't interest me in its current housing.

Some to show the usage of the xenon flash.. In "auto+flash off" and low light the phone picks iso400 and the pics get kind of ugly and noisy. If you choose night-portrait instead the phone chooses half the iso and a longer exposure time instead.
With flash activated we get a little brighter pics in night-portrait mode instead of auto.
New toy
Night portrait-no flash
Auto with flash
Night portrait with flash
No flash

My glass table with etched logo, can barely bee seen normally
A friends toy, crappy weather but anyway quite ok

Nope, Aussie

Notice the other 20 cent coin is different. We seem to get a lot of NZ 20 cent pieces floating around.

Ah true. Yeah those 20c pieces are outdated now. Hows the phone for you btw? Thought I'd see how it runs there as I'm sure our networks are quite similar. Any comments on SMS'ing, keypad, battery life would be helpful.
