I don't really care about screen resolution, I want apps! Lot's and lot's of apps!
Internet banking apps, News apps, Traffic cam apps, Game apps, Tanslator apps - English to Simplified Chinese is really handy ATM. As good as this phone is, it needs more than just a cool touch interface and a good camera. It needs apps or else it won't even match a Palm Pre let alone the iPhone. Lack of apps is what is holding back the Satio.

apps has very, very little to do with SE. android is open development. so it's up to the development community to make apps for android. then you're free to install and use whatever you want.

Thanks man! I'm almost to my 500 points after all these years hah.
If this brochure is real, rachael will be the phone sent from the gods. It is beastly! 1080HD recording? OLED touch screen with multi-touch? I am a bit skeptical about the multi-touch claim though. As far as I know, Android 2.0 doesn't support multi-touch in the browser (according to BGR's walkthrough of eclair).
All these features seem too good to be true and the brochure quality is so poor, it makes it difficult to tell whether it is a photoshop or not.
I also want to add that I think it is fake. The first description has improper grammar. "A capacitive screen that responds to the slightest of your touches and multi-touch support you will never miss a touch." The part about the multi-touch support seems awkward. I doubt SE would let something like this slip by. The other descriptive paragraphs don't seem worded like traditional SE marketing language. I am definitely skeptical and believe it is fake. Hope i'm wrong.
I HOPE it's all real. Cause that would be incredible. It would make rachael very, very expensive though. with a 4" OLED screen and 8mp cam with 1080HD recording.. it's almost guaranteed to be over $1,000 USD. Unless for some reason SE is willing to take a hit on the price in order to make a profit on pure sales volume. But with SE's reputation, it's doubtful they would lower the price much.

You're DEFINITELY correct! Its not just the hardware with all the ooh's and aahh's it'll just be another fashionable toy. The apps and core functionality is what you REALLY use on the device and without that users will bore of it very fast. The open-source development community is still playing catchup but seemingly taking a different route towards augmented reality type of apps and you'll see beter corporate app support along with your banking. Dare I say by end of 2010 we'll be doing our 2010 tax year taxation completely on our mobile smartphones. Don't joke because balancing your multiple banking accounts, credit card payments etc is already possible with iPhone and online service.
Leaving app development complete in the hands of the open community is a cop-out. SE needs to entice the community with an SDK that is EASY to use for coding apps, and show that API's are open to them for use & can be integrated into their Android "solution" (i.e. compete with Moto Blurr, HTC SenseUI, etc). Think about a Calendar or full PIM app by say a company like SBSH that can read/write to the core PIM on SE's Rachel yet STILL have the ability to sync real-time to the social?! This will make using the device that much more appealing and powerful; saving SE the extra cost of beefing up the core PIM themselves (they can just provide the highway & gateway for the social sync).
Remember guys its supposed to be MORE than just a smartphone - that was so 2006 - its supposed to be Life companion!!
Carkitter is thinking along the right track.
