Got my baby today!
Looking forward to the update in sept that will bring out ZU's true potential.
2 Questions for those who knows...
1/ Talking of updates, I read that there has already been one (http://www.xperiablog.net/2013/08/02/xperia-z-ultra-gets-its-first-firmware-update-14-1-b-0-471/)
So, I go to settings and check for update, and nothing.... Do I need to connect to PC via Sony software for updates of firmwares? Or can it be done by wifi through settings->about phone->software update ?
2/ Battery. Is it Li-Ion or Li-Po? I ask because How and when I should charge may change according to its type, for better battery care.
Battery life is too early to come to an opinion, but all I can say is that it seems accurate...It actually goes down 1% at a time (my other devices don't do that)
Nice screen. It will only get better with MBE2
Camera..
I tried to cut the regular sim to micro size, and f***ed it up..
too small!
Have to get a new one tomorrow, so for tonight it is a tablet!

Ya I just realised that... I am a bit annoyed with not being able to type and text one handed as the girl in the video shows... but I guess i would have to wait for that global release update

Had been using it for a few days now. Relatively happy with it, but without problems.
1. Problem with touchscreen sensitivity with a screen protector. Works fine with your fingers, but not so with a pencil. Most pen does not even work.
2. The mini keyboard works with chinese kayboard, but not international keyboard.
3. Volume is quite low. Not as bad as X10/XS.
4. Sometimes, the screen does not turn on when you wake the phone. On some occations, I have to press the power button a few times to get the screen on. This also happends if I have an incoming call.
Other than that, I am quite pleased with my purchase. The battery is not as bad as people might expect. I would say about the same as Z. The screen is gorgeous, and very snappy. Makes XZ looks like a toy. I am also very pleased that there is handwriting support for sentences for japanese!

Being waterproof you could also use it as a tray to serve up some Key Lime Pie or as a surf board

Or do some plastering.
I bet it could be skimmed across the surface of a swimming pool

Seems the early adopters got shafted. Shame on Sony for doing this ... BlackBerry got schooled and stoned all over the web for doing this with BB10 (yet that wasn't meant to have all the features of legacy BBOS devices). I see no different here. Great device, not knocking it, but Sony should've learned from their mistake considering the backlash of the Xperia T/TX release globally and soon after the Z/ZL. Oddly enough I still prefer the design of the TX over the Z/ZL.
