the 16/512 was exclusive to japan last year. if i recall correctly, you had to go through a particular japanese importer.

battery saving is always appreciated, but don't see why they couldn't also increase the capacity. 2 more days to find out what's true and what's bogus.

The day after I got my order thru, it was sold out.

Well, that is a shame. I liked the ribbed texture. Hopefully, there is still some kind of texture on it for gripping.
I did not like the change in the camera module shape and placement at first, but it's growing on me the more I see it.
The red is definitely very nice.
All that's left now is to wait for the announcement late tonight. I'll need to find the stream if there is one.
