@ThreeX: If you want to see the clock all the time, just set the light ON in stead of automatic. Then the light will not fade and be "invisible". But it still saves some of the battery I think.

@Wizard99
I got my phone upgraded at a place called Fleet Communications in Avery Hill Road, New Eltham, SE9: 020 8294 2000.
It's a bit of a trek for me, but SE said it was my nearest service centre. It might not be your nearest, but if you call SE on 08705 237237 and ask them where your nearest one is, you might find one closer to you than that.
@jpxdude:
As I said, I walked in with it, removed the SIM card and they upgraded it in about 20 minutes, free of charge under warranty and no settings or anything were lost on my phone afterwards.
@msandford:
When I rang the Carphone warehouse, they said they could do it but it could take upto 2 WEEKS!
I went into The Link today to ask if they can do it (for future reference) and they said no, but the carphone warehouse can do it in usually 48 hours, so it must depend which branch it is and if they have to send it off etc.
It seems quicker to just ring SE, find your nearest service centre, and take it in, in which case it should be done while-u-wait.
Hope this answers some questions!!

why are SE so crap as to not sort out these problems before the phone is released? i mean, they surely must have tried one of their headsets before release and noticed the crackle. and the clock in screen saver mode, why bother its totally useless they may as well just turn the screen off completely and save a bit more battery!

Its funny actually. The P800 doesn;t have that screensaver clock and there were quite a few threads here and on My-Symbian with people asking for one! I think someone has now developed it but SE will never really win.
IMHO the clock only comes on when I am not using the phone so whats the big deal? I quite like pressing the side buttons on my T610 and checking the time when I don;t have my watch on.

Hey! Iīm not bitching about the clock, just curious why it is not (more)visible in energy save mode, like it was on my t68i. Only time i really use it is when itīs sitting in car holder anyway, thatīs the reason iīd like it to be clearer without pressing buttons. If i set lights to 'on' itīs bound to consume more power and shorten standby time, right?
