plasma, don't feel so bad about your Alcatel. The nokia 6600 also sports that "bathroom" look. I personally call that phone "Symbian Soapbar."

my first mobile was an Analog incar Voxson unit, followed soon after by a Uniden handheld.
My first digital handset was a brick (can't even remember what it was). It was in 1998 or so. After that I got a Philips Twist. After that a Sagem, a moto V2288 (or something - it had an fm radio built in) then a real phone , the Ericsson T28s.
After that a short foray into the Nokia world with the 5510 music phone (with 64MB memory and AAC encoded audio). My next phone was my first SE and first camera phone, the T610. I then bought a Moto V525 for the VGA camera. Then the K700 came out. WHoot!! My best phone (for it's day) to date.
Then of course the K750 came out, and here we are!

Mine was this Sony CMD-J5. Really cool, was one of the first polyphonic ones and everyone just loved the amazing ringtones it had.

1990 - Had a Cellnet brick-phone. Did exactly what it says on the tin, but it weighed the same as an average family car. Dropped it once – the phone was fine but it cracked a floor tile.
