Yes definately - if you have installed the latest phonemonitor for the K700 and configured the phonemonitor to monitor the emulated com port of the cableconnection - again you need to make a note of which comport the cableconnection is on and enable monitoring of that comport in the phonemonitor. I beleive that masseur is allready doing this.

OK, I've done a quick test on my theory of why numbers disappear.
I added a new contact and put in a dummy number, then I created a second contact and added a number by looking it up from the first, then I deleted the first one.
The result was that the number was still present on the second contact making my theory a load of rubbish. Apologies.

I think I've found why the problem happens, on my phone at least.

On my phone it seems to be when I have a mobile number and a home number for the same contact, then about 6 or 7 number underneath have the same number as the default (mobile) number as the contact with 2 entries.

If I delete the second (Home) number, then go into the entries below, view and edit their number, save again the contact restores to it's proper number on the display.

Even with the mimic'd numbers on the phonebook list, it always dials the correct number.

Anyone confirm this?

Sorry antonio, I don't quite understand your explanation.
Any chance you could try and rephrase that.

Thanks.

About the battery problems: I think it's not because of the processor but mostly because of the backgorund lighting: go to the settings and turn it off and you will see... Battery lasts quite long; and the screen is visible since it's sunny for the moment

Sorry, I got a little too excited.

When I just had mobile numbers for all my contacts everything seemed fine.

I added a second number to a couple of my contacts (Home number) and what seemed to happen was that the following contacts on the list copied the mobile/default number from the contact with 2 numbers.

E.G. on the contacts screen

Just mobile numbers:
A = 1234
B = 4567
C = 7890

Adding home number:
A = 1234 (Mobile / Default) WXZY (Home)
B = 1234
C = 1234

I have found that by deleting the "Home" number for contact A and then for the affected contacts (B,C,...) go into "View & Edit", "Edit" the mobile number, you don't need to change the number, "Save" it then lists the number as what it should be on the screen.

When I add the "Home" number back onto contact A it happens all over again.

i had a similar issue using my p800 cradle and the way i solved it by uninstalling all the p800 software and then uninstalling the k700 sw by using the k700 disc and selecting remove sw (this way it removes the phone monitor as well). i then did a fresh reinstall of the k700 sw and tried to connect the k700 again but with the firewall disabled to allow a free connection (i disabled my network so my pc was at no risk).

the phone then registered immediately and with the firewall enables now it works just fine. i believe there was some conflict the the 2 sw's (p800 and k700) possible the phone monitor became corrupt.

whatever it worked for me.

the only problem i personally have with this great phone is the missing shortcut creation option:

(i think its down to orange as part of their personalisation) other than that its great

Other bug i noticed from day 1. Earpiece volume sometimes is quite low after i turn the phone on. I have to reboot for the volume to go back to normal. Strange!
