If you really have to upgrade, then I suggest you upgrade to R2L. If you can wait, wait for newer version (R3x I guess)...

hi ppl! just bought a k500 yesterday. the firmware i'm using is R2AA003. Is there any way to mute the annoying camera shutter sound? Do I need to wait for a newer upgrade? any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!!

I have recently bought a k700i and wanna make firmware update ,it's an unbranded phone .Is there any way to do this without the syncstation ,or am I doomed to buy one ?I must mention I live in Romania ,and there is no way I can buy one (it's not on the market yet) !Plese help me out !

U need a T28 Unlocking Serial cable or FTDI USB cable for Total-Server or a DSS-20/25 for SE Update Service.

No, as of the moment only dss-20/25 for the online update and t28 service cable for unofficial updates.

I just tried out my friend's new K700i using R2AA firmware and it doesn't support name search. How come? By the way, I'm in Malaysia.

in the end they have removed it from R2AA as people had problems with it and accidentally deleting contacts... now it is back in R2AE and works great

it will give you both the answers of what's new in latest firmware (it is nor R2AA anymore, but R2AE) and where to find Service Centre.
