i have emailed all the people that have allegedly bought from him in ebay auctions and one has written to tell me that he's had no phone yet.
what i dont understand is that if this guy really wants to just get money out of people why does he not try to sell something more believable...???

It was probably taken from a review site like Mobile-Review or Se-nse, it won't be a genuine picture!
General rule of thumb - though it's not necessarily totally unsafe, avoid anyone who insists on paying via Western Union. They're often scammers based somewhere like Nigeria or Eastern Europe.
