Mobilink launched GPRS for Indigo Customers about 4 months back but since then everything is standstill. What I mean is:
1) GPRS is still limited to Indigo only and not to Jazz although at the time of launching they said it would be comming soon for Jazz. No news yet and I really do not believe it is anytime in the near future.
2) GPRS for Indigo customers is still limited to the 5 major cities of Pakistan as at the time of launch 4 months ago. No further progress in this area too.
3) For the past 4 weeks at least in certain parts of Lahore GPRS is not working. I live on the upper mall near the Jimkhana club and I do not have access to GPRS for the past 4 weeks. Written time and again to mobilink customer care but nothing done.
My view is that Mobilink is unable to operate GPRS properly for such a limited number of Indigo customers they probably simply do not have tghe capability to include the Jazz customers.

Yes I have confirmed it. Its launched, but not commercially. Dial 111 from your Jazz and ask them the details.
But wait, its too expensive. Rather the most expensive.
Activation charge: 300
per mb: 20Rs(with tax)
mms: 6Rs (without tax)
and available only in islamabad, lahore, karachi and faisalabad.
now who on earth would want to have it?
of course, no nobody.

@radarblip609
The mobilink gprs rates you mention are these for Jazz customers? because they gave Indogo customers a promotional offer of Rs 500 per month fixed with no data transfer limit and free unlimited MMS. But this was a promotional offer. Any idea if this promotional offer for Indigo is going to remain as such or this will also be converted to the rates you mention. I totally agree with you that the rates are too high. Furthermore another word of caution. Since I have been using Mobilink's GPRS for almost 3 months now I can confirm that this is the slowest of the 4 available. In my view Warid is the fastest (Average 40kbs) followed by Ufone and Tenenor which manage about 35 kbs while Mobilink hardly peaks at 25 kbs. Furthermore the GPRS connectivity issue in certain parts of Lahore is still persisting for almost 4 weeks now and nothing is being done.

@srmz:
Yes, all the charges I wrote up there are for Mobilink Jazz GPRS. I would die of internet outage rather than use Jazz GPRS.
